This was the old 'Duke of York Inn' built by Fred for use as a public house, (Commercial Hotel) it was built around 1882 and has been vacant for many years, I am surprised it has stood for as long as it has..

This photo taken in 2010, such a shame to see it in this state, has probably completely fallen down by now.

Photograph to the right originally thought to be Frederick's mother.

The photographer H Boppel was born in 1848 and sold his studio in 1888.

I think this photo was brought out with Fred or sent out to family members and is a photograph of Luise the daughter of Margaretha Louise, who was born in 1862, and I think about 10 or 12 years old in this picture.

So I would date it at about 1871/1873
